August 14, 2023 — Here at the GB Journal World Headquarters we are watching an explosion of articles, webinars and other material all focused on the emerging risks involved in the AI wave. We have covered some of these already, but a recent item in the bulletin of the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) opened up another front we had not heard of earlier. The article, "Generative AI Will Disrupt Career Paths, Recruiting", by Nicole Lewis (SHRM.org on 08.08.23, free to SHRM members) discusses the impact of AI on existing recruiting and succession processes. This is another HR issue which should also involve risk management. Material career ladder disruption impacts risk in any number of ways. Check it out.
